Terms of use

What SportyReserve is

A place to find, organise and join sport and active activities with people near you. We don’t run games, own or book venues, or employ hosts. Hosts organise their own activities and arrange venues directly.

Who can use it

• You must be 18 or older.
• One account per person, for yourself. You verify your phone and face, and redo the face check every 6 months.
• Not if we’ve banned you before.

Your account

Keep your sign-in safe; you’re responsible for what happens on your account. You can change your @username once a year. Tell us straight away if someone else uses your account.

Hosting

If you host, you agree to:

• give accurate details (time, place, spots, contribution) and keep the game page up to date;
• meet only in public places, never a home;
• arrange the venue yourself, with the right to use it;
• host one thing at a time (no overlapping games);
• only ask for the contribution shown on the game page;
• cancel in good time and let people know.

New hosts have limits for their first 3 games.

Joining

Show up, or open your spot so someone else can play. Check in only when you’re really there. Faking a check-in or your location breaks these terms.

Money

SportyReserve doesn’t collect, hold or refund money. A contribution is between you and the host, paid in person, and we aren’t responsible for it. Never send money to someone you haven’t met, and report anyone who asks for more than the game page shows.

How to behave

Be polite and keep it friendly. Don’t:

• harass, threaten, abuse or discriminate against anyone;
• pretend to be someone else or lie about who you are;
• post sexual, violent, hateful or illegal content;
• spam or advertise;
• invite people anywhere for anything other than the activity;
• share other people’s personal information;
• get around safety checks, use fake GPS, or interfere with the app.

Safety and risk

Sport can cause injury. You take part at your own risk and you’re responsible for knowing your own health and limits.

Verification checks that people are real and the same person each time. It does not guarantee how anyone behaves or that anyone is safe. Meet in public, tell someone where you’re going, use Stay safe, and call 112 in an emergency.

We aren’t at activities and aren’t responsible for what happens there, except where the law says we can’t exclude responsibility.

What you post

You own what you post (photos, messages, polls). You allow us to show it in the app so the app can work. Only post what you have the right to. We can remove anything that breaks these terms.

Reports and closing accounts

Report problems with the shield on a game or by long-pressing a message. We can hide content, pause activities, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put people at risk, sometimes without warning.

You can delete your account any time in Profile, except while you’re hosting a game that hasn’t happened yet.

Our responsibility

We provide the app as it is and can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for what users do on or off the app, for injury, loss or damage at activities, or for money between users. Nothing here limits responsibility that the law doesn’t allow us to limit.

Changes

We may update the app and these terms. If a change matters, we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect. Using the app after that means you accept the new terms.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Nigeria. If something goes wrong, email us first and we’ll try to sort it out. If we can’t, the courts of Nigeria decide.
